Electric Picnic 2026 Unveils Line-Up Featuring CMAT, Fontaines D.C., and Gorillaz
The highly anticipated Electric Picnic festival has revealed its initial line-up for 2026, featuring notable acts such as CMAT, Fontaines D.C., and Gorillaz. The three-day event is scheduled to take place at Stradbally Hall in County Laois, Ireland, from August 28 to August 30. Tickets are already available for purchase.
This year’s festival promises an exciting experience, with Fontaines D.C. headlining on Sunday night and Gorillaz set to close the main stage on Saturday. The line-up also includes Sombr, Skepta, Wunderhorse, Zara Larsson, Role Model, and Geese, bringing the total number of confirmed acts to nine.
Festival Dates and Competing Events
Electric Picnic coincides with the Reading & Leeds festival weekend, where Fontaines D.C. will also perform. The initial line-up for Reading & Leeds similarly features artists like Skepta, Sombr, Role Model, and Geese. Currently, Fontaines D.C. has no other performances scheduled for 2026, having recently concluded their tour promoting the Mercury Prize-nominated album Romance.
While fans eagerly await new music from the band, they can look forward to CMAT embarking on her “biggest shows ever” during her upcoming UK and Ireland tour. In addition to Electric Picnic, she is set to headline at the LIDO Festival in London and the End Of The Road festival in Dorset, as well as perform at TRNSMT and Truck Festival. Her latest album, Euro-Country, released in August, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize but did not win.
Gorillaz and Future Prospects for Fontaines D.C.
In anticipation of their upcoming album, The Mountain, set to release in March 2024, Gorillaz are also preparing for a UK and Ireland tour, which includes a significant concert at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The band’s recent single, The God Of Lying, featuring Idles, is part of a series of new releases that includes The Happy Dictator and The Manifesto.
In a conversation with NME, Conor Deegan III, bassist for Fontaines D.C., shared insights into the band’s creative process as they work on their fifth album. He noted, “We can’t stop writing – it’s something that we just do when we’re with each other.” Deegan acknowledged the need for balance, suggesting a break may help them explore new ideas while keeping their connection strong.
As anticipation builds for these exciting performances and potential new music, fans can mark their calendars for Electric Picnic and the various festivals featuring these prominent artists. The festival continues to showcase a blend of established and emerging talent, ensuring an unforgettable experience for attendees.
