Plans to expand the Premier Inn in Stirling City Centre have received formal approval from the District of Stirling Licensing Board. This decision allows the hotel to modify its premises licence, which includes changes to the operating and layout plans.

The application outlined the establishment as a “hotel with a food and beverage area.” Among the proposed changes, the hotel sought to remove outdoor drinking as a permitted activity. Furthermore, the capacity for on-sales would decrease from 570 persons to 476 persons, while the off-sales area would be significantly reduced from 18.99 sqm to 2 sqm.

Refurbishment Plans and New Construction

The applicant also submitted updated layout plans reflecting the refurbishment of the former Beefeater restaurant. This restaurant is set to be demolished and replaced by a new three-storey building. The construction will introduce an additional 35 bedrooms along with a modern food and beverage area.

Significantly, no objections or representations were raised by Police Scotland or the Licensing Standards Officer regarding the application. Additionally, there were no other objections or comments submitted by the public.

The approval marks a notable step in the ongoing development of the hotel sector in Stirling, aiming to enhance accommodation options in the area and provide a more comprehensive service to visitors. With these plans moving forward, the Premier Inn is poised to play a larger role in the local hospitality landscape.
