Two Killed, Eight Injured in Truck Crash at Tokyo Crowd
At least two people have died and eight others sustained injuries after a truck crashed into a crowd in Adachi City, Tokyo. The incident occurred on November 24, 2023, around 14:47 local time. Authorities are investigating the situation, which has been described as a “suspected sudden acceleration accident.” Witnesses reported that the driver fled the scene.
According to the Jeju Fire and Safety Headquarters, the truck ploughed into a busy area in Yeonpyeong-ri, Udo-myeon, Jeju-si. Emergency responders arrived promptly, with a helicopter and a medical team dispatched to provide immediate assistance. Tragically, two individuals who were rescued from cardiac arrest were later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Of the eight injured, one person suffered serious injuries, while the remaining seven experienced minor injuries. All victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The Metropolitan Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the accident and is actively searching for the missing driver.
