Ex-Girlfriend of MAFS UK Star Claims He Abandoned Her for Show
The ex-girlfriend of Married At First Sight star Steven has publicly accused him of abandoning her to participate in the reality show. In a recent TikTok video, Melissa Stacey expressed her discontent, asserting that Steven did not inform her about his decision to join the E4 experiment, despite dating her for several months prior.
Melissa’s video featured a poignant caption stating: “The same person who can buy you 100 roses and date you for months can also lie to you and disappear to get married on national TV,” accompanied by a crying emoji. Her followers quickly reacted, with one viewer expressing disbelief and another offering support, stating, “You are beautiful inside and out, girl, don’t forget it.”
In her responses, Melissa confirmed that she was indeed referring to Steven and remarked, “He seemed nice, showed his real colours eventually. Genuinely wish him the best though.” Despite her criticisms, Steven defended himself, claiming that their relationship had naturally reached its conclusion. He described Melissa as a “lovely girl” and explained, “Yes, we dated for a couple of months, but ultimately things did not progress into anything official as I didn’t see a future in us. I then went onto the show to find a wife.”
Inside the Wedding and Family Revelation
Meanwhile, viewers of MAFS UK have been captivated by the series, particularly following Steven’s recent wedding to cosmetic dentist Nelly. Following a fairy-tale ceremony, Steven dropped a significant revelation by disclosing that he is a father of two.
In a candid moment, he stated, “I wanted to bring it up sooner. I needed to find the right moment. Alone time, away from sort of families, just me and you. So, I’m a dad. Got two kids.” Nelly, initially taken aback, responded with reassurance, saying, “I’m glad that you could share that with me.” This moment marks a pivotal point in their developing relationship, as they appear to be one of the strongest couples in the ongoing experiment.
As the series continues to unfold on Channel 4, the dynamics between contestants and their past relationships remain a topic of interest for fans and viewers alike. The unfolding drama highlights the complexities of love and commitment in a reality television setting, drawing both criticism and admiration from the audience.
The Sun has reached out to Channel 4 representatives for further comments regarding the ongoing situation surrounding Steven and Melissa.
