A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed, “At around 12:16 PM, crews were called to reports of a lorry fire on the A1 Northbound between Brampton and Sawtry. Crews have been tackling the fire using hose reels, and the incident has now scaled down. Two crews remain in attendance. Lane closures have been in place while firefighters have been responding to the incident.”

The Cambridgeshire Police have also issued a statement highlighting the ongoing delays, noting, “There is a lorry on fire in the hard shoulder on the Northbound carriageway.
