Danish Artist Barbro Releases New Single ‘What Men Do’ Ahead of Album
Danish artist Barbro has unveiled her new single, titled ‘What Men Do’, showcasing a compelling blend of beauty and introspection. This release marks a significant moment in Barbro’s evolving musical journey, particularly as she prepares for the launch of her second album, ‘Crossfade’, set for release on February 6, 2024.
Barbro, a notable figure within the vibrant music scene emerging from Copenhagen’s Rhythmic Music Conservatory, is part of a creative collective that includes artists like Astrid Sonne, ML Buch, and Clarissa Connelly. Since the release of her debut album, ‘Bad Choices’, in 2023, Barbro has returned to her hometown near Kolding Fjord. There, she has transformed the art room of her former school into a makeshift DIY studio, where much of her new work has taken shape.
The single ‘What Men Do’ stands out as a poignant exploration of inherited behaviors and emotional challenges. Barbro describes the track as addressing “inherited behaviour, emotional rupture, and the fragile work of unlearning — holding both vulnerability and resistance in the same breath.” This duality is reflected in the song’s sound, which combines melodic beauty with a subtle yet powerful confrontation of societal norms.
Listeners can expect the full album ‘Crossfade’ to further develop the themes introduced in this single. The upcoming release is highly anticipated, particularly following the positive reception of her initial album. As Barbro continues to carve out her unique artistic voice, her work resonates with a growing audience eager for authentic and thought-provoking music.
With ‘What Men Do’ now available to stream, Barbro invites listeners to engage with her art in a deeply personal way. The release not only highlights her musical talent but also her commitment to addressing complex themes through her artistry.
