Rob Rinder Defends Kate Garraway After Jonathan Ross’s Insult
Kate Garraway received strong support from her Good Morning Britain co-host, Rob Rinder, following a pointed comment made by Jonathan Ross during the latest episode of The Celebrity Traitors. The incident, which aired on March 14, 2024, saw Garraway being labeled as “weak” by Ross in a moment filled with tension as contestants faced elimination.
On the show, which features an ensemble cast including notable figures like Sir Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie, participants are subjected to intense gameplay. As the series progresses, the stakes have risen, leading to dramatic moments as players are eliminated in a murder mystery format. In the latest episode, Mark Bonnar was banished after a heated roundtable discussion that included David Olusoga and Joe Wilkinson, who was murdered in the game.
During this particular episode, contestants nominated each other for various categories, such as “most two-faced” and “weakest.” While Imrie humorously identified herself as “two-faced,” Ross’s remarks about Garraway were seen as particularly harsh. He quipped that she was “physically” and “intellectually weak,” stating, “Just generally weak in every single way.” In response, Garraway managed to maintain her composure and jokingly remarked, “The real problem is I agree!”
Rinder, who appears alongside Garraway on Good Morning Britain, expressed his discontent with Ross’s comments on the show airing the following morning. He stated, “Jonathan Ross described you as, ‘physically weak, intellectually weak.’ I like Jonathan Ross, he’s a great man, but I did want to do mild violence to him.” This statement highlights the camaraderie and support Garraway has from her colleagues, contrasting with the competitive atmosphere of The Celebrity Traitors.
Good Morning Britain, which broadcasts weekdays at 6 a.m. on ITV1, continues to provide a platform for discussions surrounding current events and celebrity news. The Celebrity Traitors is set to return on March 20, 2024, at 9 p.m. on BBC One, with episodes also available for viewing on BBC iPlayer.
As the series unfolds, viewers can expect more dramatic confrontations and rising tensions among the contestants, particularly as they navigate the challenges posed by both the game and each other.
