TNA Nears New TV Deal as AMC Emerges as Potential Partner
TNA, or Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a new media rights deal for 2026, with several networks under consideration. According to TNA President Carlos Silva, the promotion is increasingly close to announcing a partnership that could significantly enhance its visibility and revenue.
Discussions have highlighted The CW and A&E as potential networks for TNA’s programming. The CW currently broadcasts NXT in the United States, while A&E has established a long-standing relationship with WWE, featuring programming like “WWE LFG” and “Biography: WWE Legends.” According to sources within the television industry, an announcement regarding TNA’s new deal could arrive by the end of the year.
AMC Joins the Fray
In a surprising development, AMC has emerged as a candidate for airing TNA content. Known for hit series such as “Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul,” and “The Walking Dead,” AMC has not previously featured professional wrestling. However, analysts speculate that a partnership with TNA could attract a new audience and significantly boost the network’s profile in the sports entertainment sector.
Currently, TNA broadcasts on the Anthem-owned AXS TV and the TNA+ streaming service. As reported by Wrestlenomics, AXS TV reaches approximately 30 million households in the U.S. Moving to AMC could potentially double that reach, presenting a substantial opportunity for TNA’s growth.
Financial Implications and Future Directions
The financial ramifications of a new media rights deal could be considerable. TNA’s current arrangement with AXS TV is limited because both companies are owned by Anthem. A new partnership with an external network could lead to a significant increase in revenue for TNA, with estimates suggesting that the new deal could be valued at up to $10 million.
Speculation indicates that TNA may also aim to expand its live programming offerings. There are discussions about potentially moving its weekly iMPACT show from its current Thursday slot to compete directly with programming from AEW (All Elite Wrestling). This strategic shift could further enhance TNA’s market presence and viewer engagement.
As the landscape of professional wrestling continues to evolve, TNA’s forthcoming media rights deal is poised to have a notable impact on the promotion’s future, both in terms of visibility and financial health. Fans and industry observers alike will be eagerly awaiting the announcement that could reshape the wrestling entertainment landscape.
