Consett Author Unveils Ambitious 7.1 Million-Word Magic Book
As Halloween approaches, Consett author Simon Robson, known by his pen name S. Rob, has launched a remarkable project: a massive volume titled The Long Grimoire. This collection, boasting an astonishing 7,193,205 words, claims to be the world’s largest compilation of spells, rituals, and esoteric knowledge, drawing from diverse global traditions.
Robson describes The Long Grimoire as the culmination of his life’s work, merging various occult practices into one comprehensive guide. He refers to it as “the Bible of the occult,” asserting that those who engage with its content could master the magical arts. “I’ve been working on it for many years,” he stated. “It draws on occultism everywhere — spells, rituals, protections — all woven into one massive document.”
While the book has not yet received certification from Guinness World Records, Robson believes it qualifies for the title of the longest magical text ever written. His extensive research involved a recursive exploration of topics, leading him to delve deeper into the subject matter. Over time, this endeavor transformed into a “temple of magic” that exceeded his original vision.
Transformation and Identity
Coinciding with the book’s completion, Robson has adopted a new personal style, donning a black kilt that reflects his identity as “The Kilted Occultist.” He feels that this attire resonates more profoundly with his spiritual journey. For Robson, Halloween is not merely a holiday; it represents a sacred time when the veil between worlds is thin. Much of his magical practice revolves around crossing thresholds, making the festival of Samhain particularly significant.
The book is available exclusively in digital format for purchase through his website, www.srob.co.uk. Pricing starts at £80, which grants buyers a download code for permanent access to the content. “If it were a printed volume, you’d need a massive bookcase,” he joked, emphasizing the impracticality of a physical edition due to its sheer size.
A New Era of Magical Literature
By naming his work The Long Grimoire, Robson aligns with a long-standing tradition of mystical spellbooks. A grimoire typically serves as a manual for magical practices, offering instructions on casting spells, invoking spirits, and performing rituals. His choice of title indicates that this project is more than an encyclopaedia; it aims to be a practical guide for those interested in the magical arts.
Robson’s ambitious project not only marks a significant achievement in the realm of occult literature but also reflects a growing interest in esoteric studies globally. As he encourages readers to explore the depths of magic, The Long Grimoire promises to be a transformative resource for practitioners at all levels.
