Sky Offers Free Upgrades on Glass Air TVs Until July 30

Sky has launched a limited-time promotion inviting customers to upgrade to its latest smart television, the Sky Glass Air. By placing an order for the 43-inch model before July 30, 2023, customers will receive a complimentary upgrade that includes access to 12 months of Ultra HD channels at no additional cost. Typically priced at £6 per month, this upgrade enhances viewing quality with sharper images and immersive sound through Dolby Atmos, covering select channels from Sky Entertainment, Sky Cinema, and Sky Sports.
This offer represents a total savings of £72 compared to the standard pricing for Ultra HD services, making it an appealing deal for those looking to enhance their home entertainment experience. The Sky Glass Air was first introduced in June as a more affordable and streamlined alternative to the original Sky Glass Gen 2. This device integrates Sky channels and popular streaming applications directly into the television, eliminating the need for a satellite dish or separate Sky box.
The pricing for the Sky Glass Air starts at just £6 per month, significantly lower than the £14 monthly fee for the Gen 2 model. Despite its lower price, the Glass Air boasts a 4K HDR Quantum Dot display and a Dolby Audio speaker system. Additional features include voice control, personalized recommendations, and a user-friendly setup process, according to reports from the Express.
It is essential to note that the £6 monthly charge applies solely to the television and must be paired with a Sky TV and Netflix subscription. These packages begin at £15 per month for the Essential TV bundle, which includes over 100 channels such as Sky Atlantic, along with Netflix and Discovery+. Customers can opt for the £22 Ultimate TV bundle, adding more than 35 additional channels, including Sky Documentaries and Sky Comedy.
When combining the Sky Glass Air with the Ultimate TV package, the total monthly cost would amount to £28, with a one-time setup fee of £20. It is important to consider the duration of the subscription plans; the Sky Glass Air contract lasts for 48 months, while the TV and Netflix bundle is shorter at 24 months. The television is available in three colors: Carbon Grey, Cotton White, and Sea Green.
For those considering alternatives, options such as Amazon’s promotion on the 43-inch Samsung Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV are available, with a current price reduction from £299 to £239, a discount of £60. Additionally, Virgin Media is running a Summer of Sports sale, offering substantial discounts on its TV, Sky Sports, and broadband packages, with savings reaching up to £336 on bundles featuring eight Sky Sports channels, more than 200 regular channels, Sky Cinema, Netflix, and high-speed broadband.
Feedback on the Sky Glass Air has been largely positive, with users praising its ease of assembly and sound quality. One user remarked, “It was very easy to assemble, and account syncing to my Glass downstairs was straightforward.” They noted the television’s sound projection differs due to rear speakers, stating that it produced clear audio.
Another user highlighted the value of the Sky Glass Air for casual viewers, saying, “It’s good as a standalone TV and works equally well for those who have already invested in a decent audio system.” However, they also cautioned that serious gamers might need to consider other models for a superior gaming experience.
As the deadline for this promotion approaches, potential customers may want to act quickly if they wish to take advantage of this enticing offer.
