Former WWE Star Brian Kendrick Claims Junior Heavyweight Title in Thatcham
A significant title change took place in Thatcham as former WWE star Brian Kendrick defeated reigning champion Prince Phoenix to become the new British Kingdom Pro Wrestling Junior Heavyweight Champion. This victory occurred on October 26, 2025, at Kennet School, marking a notable chapter in the title’s 20-year history, which has seen past champions such as Kenny Omega and Pete Dunne.
The atmosphere in Thatcham was electric as Kendrick, a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and one of the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions, showcased his skills in the ring. The crowd erupted with excitement when Kendrick secured the win, ending Phoenix’s reign as the longest-serving Junior Heavyweight Champion. “I’m thrilled to have this title,” Kendrick stated after the match, reflecting on the importance of the championship in his career.
In the main event of the evening, Chris Bronson, known as ‘The Stallion’, successfully defended his Heavyweight Championship in a thrilling Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) match. After a series of intense exchanges, Bronson climbed the ladder with the championship belt hanging above the ring. In a dramatic turn of events, both he and Saime Sahin found themselves at the top of the ladder, where Bronson struck Sahin with a steel chair, sending him crashing through a table below.
Earlier in the match, Bronson endured a brutal powerbomb from the top turnbuckle, demonstrating the high stakes and physicality that define professional wrestling. “It’s not just about winning; it’s about putting on a show for the fans,” Bronson remarked after retaining his title.
British Kingdom Pro Wrestling has announced its return to Thatcham on December 20, 2025, for an event titled ‘Kingdom Wars’. Fans can expect more thrilling matches and the continuation of intense rivalries in the ring.
The evening showcased not only the athleticism of the competitors but also the enduring appeal of professional wrestling, drawing fans from across the region to witness the excitement firsthand.
