A90 Partially Closed for Over 18 Hours After Body Found
The A90 remains partially closed for more than 18 hours following the discovery of a body during the search for a missing man from Merseyside. The family of Kenneth Unsworth, who was last seen on November 20, 2023, has been informed of the situation. Officers believe the 46-year-old may have traveled north towards Tayside or Aberdeenshire.
At approximately 12:20 PM on Wednesday, police were alerted to the discovery of the body near the dual carriageway between Brechin and Laurencekirk. Formal identification of the body has yet to take place. In the meantime, an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing.
Investigation Underway
Detectives are currently treating the incident as unexplained. A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated, “The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.” The investigation aims to uncover the events leading to the discovery, while traffic on the A90 remains affected.
Authorities have cordoned off parts of the road, creating significant delays for motorists. Local drivers are advised to seek alternative routes while the investigation continues. The police presence in the area is expected to remain until the situation is fully assessed.
