Police Arrest Podgorica Man for Alleged Drug Trafficking

Authorities in Podgorica have arrested a 22-year-old man, identified as P.V., in connection with alleged street-level drug trafficking. The operation, carried out by officers from the Montenegrin Police Directorate, took place on September 29, 2023, as part of ongoing efforts to combat the distribution of narcotics in the area.

According to police reports, a search warrant was executed at an apartment used by P.V., where another individual, B.Š., also aged 22, was present. During the search, law enforcement officials discovered a variety of illegal substances. Specifically, they confiscated two packages containing cocaine, seven packages of marijuana, and four packages containing a total of 145 tablets of the synthetic drug ecstasy. Additionally, authorities found a hand-rolled cigarette containing marijuana, a precision scale, and various packaging materials associated with drug distribution.

Following the collection of evidence, P.V. was taken into custody under the directive of the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica. He faces serious charges, including the unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotics, as well as facilitating drug use.

The Montenegrin Police Directorate emphasized that this operation is part of a larger initiative to dismantle networks of street dealers and reduce drug-related crimes in the region. The arrest reflects the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold public safety and target illegal drug activity.

As investigations continue, authorities encourage the community to report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking. The police remain vigilant in their efforts to address the challenges posed by illegal substances on the streets of Podgorica.
