JLS Energizes Cardiff with Nostalgic Hits on 2025 Tour
JLS brought a wave of nostalgia to Cardiff on November 17, 2025, as they performed at the Utilita Arena during their ‘The Club Is Alive: 2025 Hits Tour.’ The boyband captivated a packed audience with a high-energy show that featured their biggest hits, creating a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of their earlier days. Fans were instantly transported back to their youth, singing along to classics like ‘Love You More’ and ‘Eyes Wide Shut.’
As the excitement built for JLS, the crowd was warmed up by singer-songwriter and rapper Example. His set included popular tracks from the noughties, such as ‘Kickstarts’ and ‘Changed The Way You Kissed Me.’ This nostalgic prelude set the tone for the night and had fans reminiscing about a decade ago.
The anticipation for JLS’s performance was palpable, especially since the band last visited Cardiff on July 7, 2024, during their Summer Hits tour. This time, they promised to deliver a club-like experience, and they did not disappoint. The moment they took the stage, the arena was alive with energy, starting with their 2010 hit ‘The Club Is Alive.’
Despite Aston Merrygold appearing on crutches due to an injury sustained during rehearsals, Marvin Humes, Ortise Williams, and JB Gill showcased impressive choreography. Their synchronized dance routines, a hallmark of JLS, kept the audience engaged throughout the night. The atmosphere intensified further with hits such as ‘Do You Feel What I Feel’ and ‘Hottest Girl In The World,’ complemented by dramatic flames shooting up from the stage.
Even those who might not be ardent fans of JLS found themselves enjoying the performance. The band incorporated a DJ segment featuring Marvin and Aston playing a mix of popular club hits, including Sean Paul’s ‘Temperature’ and Miley Cyrus’s ‘Party In The USA.’ They also revisited their memorable cover of Rihanna and Jay-Z’s ‘Umbrella,’ which they first performed on The X Factor in 2008.
Adding to the excitement, the audience participated in a dance lesson for ‘She Makes Me Wanna,’ guided by a pre-recorded video of presenter Sam Thompson. The evening also featured live salsa dancing from JB, who had recently competed in Strictly Come Dancing 2024.
Throughout the concert, JLS reflected on their seventeen-year journey since their debut on The X Factor, expressing heartfelt gratitude to their loyal fans. As the show neared its conclusion, they performed the beloved track ‘Beat Again’ before finishing with the crowd-pleaser ‘Everybody In Love.’
Fans in Cardiff can look forward to another exciting performance tonight, as JLS continues their tour, ensuring that their music remains a cherished part of many lives.
