Sutjeska Secures Third Victory in ABA2 League with 88-78 Win
Sutjeska Elektriprivreda maintained its perfect record in the ABA2 league by defeating Radnički 88-78 in Kragujevac. This victory marks the team’s third consecutive win, allowing them to bounce back from their recent loss to Ibar in the domestic league.
The match featured a strong performance from Sutjeska, particularly during critical moments. After establishing a 10-0 run, driven by players like Vučurović and Martin, Sutjeska surged ahead to a 19-12 lead. Following a score from Vujović, the Niksic team achieved its first double-digit advantage at 23-13. Radnički fought back, narrowing the gap to 25-24, but Sutjeska responded with six consecutive points, extending their lead to 31-24.
As the first half progressed, Radnički managed to reclaim the lead at 34-33. Nonetheless, Sutjeska closed the half strongly, finishing with a three-pointer from Tadić to secure a 49-43 halftime score.
The second half saw Sutjeska continue its momentum, scoring five quick points at the start. With Vučurović contributing four of those, the team led 54-43. A three-pointer from Gajović expanded the advantage to 62-48 with just under seven minutes remaining in the quarter. Radnički, led by Grin, fought back to pull within six points at 66-61. A subsequent five-point response from Bojić helped Sutjeska regain control, finishing the third quarter at 75-64.
In the final quarter, Vučurović extended the lead to 80-69. Although Radnički threatened to reduce the deficit to 80-74, Sutjeska held firm, securing the win and preserving their undefeated status in the regional competition.
Kristofer Martin was the standout player for Sutjeska, scoring 16 points. Andrija Vučurović contributed 14 points, while Filip Barović added 12 points and seven rebounds. Goran Gajović recorded eight points and 12 rebounds, and Tadija Tadić finished with eight points and seven assists. On the opposing team, Darin Kevin Grin Jr. was the top scorer, netting 24 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Looking ahead, Sutjeska will host Zlatibor on December 9, 2023, as they aim to extend their winning streak in the league.
