Enniskillen Tops UK for Cheapest Pints at £3.80

A recent report has identified the town of Enniskillen in Northern Ireland as the location with the cheapest average pint prices in the UK, offering a pint for just £3.80. This places Enniskillen ahead of its close competitor, Derry, where the average price is £4.25. These figures stand in stark contrast to the more expensive areas in Northern Ireland, including Lisburn, which was previously reported as the most expensive place to purchase a beer in the UK, with an average cost of £6.10.
The analysis, conducted by Bionic using data from Statista and the Office for National Statistics, indicates that Belfast also struggles with high pint prices, averaging £6. This reflects a growing trend of increasing beer prices in various locations across the UK.
Despite the more affordable options in Enniskillen and Derry, the report reveals that these prices still do not compete with the bargains available elsewhere in the UK. According to findings from OMS marketing firm, which compiled the report in collaboration with MG Timber, Arun in West Sussex stands out as the most economical location, with an average pint costing just £2. Following Arun, Burnley in Lancashire and Llandudno in Wales offer average prices of £2.50 and £2.71 respectively.
The report highlights the impact of rising living costs across the UK. It states, “As the cost of living continues to be a hot topic, one of the simplest pleasures, enjoying a pint at your local pub, is feeling the impact.” The data indicated that while some regions maintain prices close to pre-inflation levels, others are now charging over £7 for a single drink.
In response to the public’s growing interest in price differences across the country, the Pint Report serves as a valuable resource. It not only ranks the cheapest and most expensive towns for pints but also provides insight into overall dining affordability, including average costs for a three-course meal for two.
As reported, Witney in Oxfordshire leads the list of expensive areas, with an average pint priced at £7. Urban areas such as Lewisham, Brighton, and Godalming also reflect rising costs. Interestingly, Aberdare in Wales features among the pricier locations, demonstrating that high prices are not exclusive to the South East of England.
As consumers weigh their options for a night out or consider how their local prices compare, the Pint Report offers a comprehensive snapshot of where beer prices are the most and least favorable across the UK.
