A free health event aimed at improving awareness and understanding of heart-related issues will take place on October 24, 2024, at the Stamford Arts Centre in St Mary’s Street. Titled **Your Heart, Your Future**, the event will feature discussions on heart attacks, cardiac arrests, and heart failure, providing crucial information for individuals seeking to enhance their heart health.

The event will host four experts, including lead cardiac nurses from the **North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust**, which operates **Peterborough City Hospital** and **Stamford Hospital**. These professionals will address common questions such as “What is a heart attack?” and “What is cardiac arrest?” They will also offer advice on recognizing symptoms and the appropriate actions to take during such emergencies.

A detailed presentation will focus on cardiac prevention and rehabilitation, alongside practical demonstrations of emergency procedures, including CPR and the use of defibrillators. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers, gaining insights that could potentially save lives.

Organized by the **Stamford Health Education Awareness Charity (Sheac)**, the event commences at 12:30 PM, with the first presentations starting at 1 PM. Participants will also have the chance to discuss their experiences and concerns related to cardiac conditions in a supportive environment.

At 2:15 PM, there will be a refreshment break, during which complimentary hot drinks will be provided by the **Stamford and District Lions Club**. The event is scheduled to conclude at 4 PM, following a 15-minute question and answer panel session, allowing for further discussion on heart health and related topics.

The initiative aims to empower attendees with knowledge and resources, contributing to better heart health and potentially reducing the incidence of heart-related emergencies in the community.
