Jesy Nelson has expressed newfound pride in her body following the birth of her twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe. The singer, known for her rise to fame with *Little Mix* after winning *The X Factor*, shared a heartfelt message on social media, detailing her journey toward body acceptance after enduring “33 years of extreme dieting.”

In a touching Instagram post, Nelson posed for a series of black-and-white photographs in her underwear, showcasing her post-pregnancy body just five months after giving birth. She reflected on the transformative experience of motherhood, stating, “I never thought it would have taken having two beautiful baby girls, that I could have potentially lost, to make me realise how incredible my body actually is.”

Nelson candidly discussed her past struggles with body image, revealing that she had often wished for a flatter belly and a smaller waist. She even considered undergoing breast enhancement surgery. “I can honestly say I’ve never felt prouder of my body and what it has been through!” she declared. The singer acknowledged that while her body has changed, it has achieved something remarkable: bringing her daughters into the world.

Encouragement for New Mothers

In her post, Nelson emphasized the importance of self-love, particularly for new and expectant mothers. She urged them to be kinder to themselves and to appreciate their bodies for what they have accomplished. “If you’re struggling with how you are feeling in yourself or are maybe even feeling the pressure to ‘snap back,’ just take a moment to remember what YOU did! Be kinder to yourself and remember you are INCREDIBLE!!!”

The emotional message resonated with her followers, many of whom flooded her post with supportive comments. One fan praised her as an “incredible role model mama,” while others echoed sentiments of pride and admiration for her journey.

Nelson and her fiancé, Zion, welcomed their twins prematurely at just 31 weeks due to a diagnosis of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), a rare and serious condition affecting twins. Following their birth, the babies required care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) before they could return home. Reflecting on that challenging experience, Nelson described the emotional turmoil of having her daughters connected to numerous medical devices, stating, “Nothing or no one will ever be able to prepare you as a parent for NICU.”

She recounted the overwhelming feelings of helplessness, wanting to comfort her newborns yet being unable to do so amid wires and tubes. “Having them reunited for the first time ever was the most magical feeling I will never be able to describe,” she shared.

Strengthening Bonds

During this tumultuous period, Nelson and Zion found their relationship strengthened. Zion remarked, “I think it’s at these times when you really, really know what love you have and what your relationship means.”

The couple’s journey through pregnancy has been fraught with challenges, including an emergency procedure that Nelson underwent in March 2023 due to complications. Doctors advised her to remain in the hospital until she reached at least 32 weeks gestation.

As she continues to navigate motherhood, Jesy Nelson’s candid reflections on body image and self-acceptance serve as an inspiring reminder to many. Her journey illustrates the profound changes that come with motherhood and the importance of embracing one’s body, no matter how it transforms.
