Carmarthenshire Students Celebrate Impressive GCSE Results
Students across Carmarthenshire are celebrating today as they receive their General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) results. The county has reported that 62.4% of all entries achieved an A*-C grade, while 17.3% of entries secured the higher A*-A grades.
Recognizing Student Achievements
Cllr. Glynog Davies, the Cabinet Member for Education and Welsh Language, expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the young learners. He stated, “Today is a celebration of the brilliant achievements of our young people in Carmarthenshire who are receiving their GCSE results. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication in preparing for your GCSEs.”
The council highlighted that these results are not only a testament to the students’ efforts but also reflect the unwavering support of teachers, support staff, families, and friends. Cllr. Davies emphasized the collective effort that contributes to the educational success of the region.
Statements from Council Leaders
In a joint statement, Wendy Walters, Chief Executive of Carmarthenshire County Council, and Owain Lloyd, Director of Education and Children’s Services, congratulated the learners on their outstanding achievements. They noted, “Your hard work and dedication are recognized in these results, and we are very proud of you all.”
Walters and Lloyd also extended their gratitude to the educators and support staff, stating, “We would like to extend our gratitude to their teachers, support staff, families, and friends for their hard work over the last two years. Thank you all.”
The release of these results marks an important milestone for the students, many of whom have dedicated significant time and effort to their studies. As the academic year concludes, the results serve as a reflection of their perseverance and commitment.
