Discover London’s Chic Mini Cocktails and Summer Delights

As London basks in a summer heatwave, local venues are offering delightful ways to enjoy the warm weather. With temperatures expected to reach a high of 30 degrees Celsius on Friday, residents and visitors alike can indulge in mini cocktails and summer treats across the city. This week, various establishments are showcasing unique experiences, including a complimentary maritozzi giveaway and free prosecco in celebration of National Prosecco Day.
One standout is Ave Mario, which is celebrating the Italian public holiday Ferragosto by offering free maritozzi, sweet buns filled with creamy mascarpone, outside their location in Covent Garden on August 15. Guests can claim their delicious treat starting at 12:00 PM, providing a taste of Italy in the heart of London.
For those seeking refreshing beverages, a selection of bars is featuring innovative mini cocktails. At Chiave, located in Shoreditch, patrons can enjoy the **Killer Queen Bloody Mary**, crafted with Belvedere Vodka, Clamato juice, and a secret spice blend. Another option is the **Alla Turca Jazz**, a miniature espresso martini that combines Planteray dark rum and Turkish coffee. Mini cocktails at Chiave are available for three for £9 or six for £15.
At the Virgin Hotel Shoreditch, the new Afternoon Tea-Quila experience offers a Mexican twist on traditional afternoon tea. Guests can savour a tower of delectable treats, including a watermelon and steak sandwich, tequila macarons, and a theatrical iced Earl Grey Margarita served from a dry ice teapot. This unique offering is priced at £49.50 per person for tea, with an additional £35 for cocktails, running from August 11 to 24.
Another venue, Brother Marcus, has opened a new branch in Canary Wharf, featuring a stunning outdoor terrace. Their mezze-style menu is perfect for sharing, with dishes like the **Rip & Dip Platter** at £19.80, showcasing a variety of cold dips and freshly baked pita. A must-try is the exclusive **Souvla & Skewers** menu, offering tender lamb kofta skewers served on a creamy aubergine béchamel.
Foodies will also want to check out Florencio Pizza in Mayfair, which is gaining attention for its stracciatella pizza and homemade desserts. The restaurant maintains a welcoming atmosphere, and its dessert menu features a banana split ice cream that has garnered rave reviews.
In addition to these culinary experiences, London is hosting a variety of events this weekend. Highlights include a Korean-inspired noodle gathering at BeatBox in Wembley on August 15, featuring flavours like beef jjigae and kimchi jjigae.
For a taste of something special, visitors can also enjoy a one-night-only Iraqi supper club hosted by chef Suzie Bakos at Jimmy’s BBQ on August 17. This six-course tasting menu promises to deliver an exquisite Middle Eastern experience.
As the city embraces summer, the vibrant atmosphere is complemented by a lineup of activities. Whether sipping on mini cocktails or indulging in unique dining experiences, London offers something for everyone looking to enjoy the season.
