Mel B, the former Spice Girls star, celebrated her second wedding to Rory McPhee in a heartfelt ceremony held at the luxurious Salmen hotel in Marrakesh. The event, which took place one month after their London wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral, was marked by the presence of her three children, each playing a significant role in the celebration.

The wedding was a family affair, with Mel B’s eldest daughter, Phoenix, 26, walking her down the aisle. Her son, Angel, 18, who recently came out as transgender, served as a groomsman to Rory, while her youngest daughter, Madison, 13, was one of the nine bridesmaids. Mel B expressed her joy, stating, “That meant the world to me. It was the most amazing day and was so full of love. It exceeded all our expectations.”

Angel’s Special Surprise

On the morning of the wedding, Mel B prepared for the ceremony alongside her bridesmaids, which included her sister, Danielle, and her niece, Mimi. The bridal party participated in a traditional henna ceremony, applying intricate designs on their hands and feet to symbolize health and happiness. Each bridesmaid wore elegant red satin dresses from New Look, while Angel coordinated with Rory and the groomsmen, who included Rory’s father, John, and brother, Jordan.

Angel’s outfit remained a surprise until the moment Mel B walked down the aisle. “I knew that Angel was getting ready with Rory and his groomsmen, so it was really quite beautiful, because I didn’t even know what he was wearing until I walked down the aisle,” Mel B explained. Angel donned a smart black suit, complete with a crisp white shirt, bow tie, and chunky platform shoes.

Wedding Day Mishaps and Joy

As Mel B shared precious moments with her family, a small mishap occurred while she walked down the aisle with Phoenix, who was dressed in a stunning gold sequin gown. With Alicia Keys‘ song “No One” playing softly in the background, Mel B made her entrance in a breathtaking Justin Alexander bridal gown. The setting sun illuminated the hotel’s landscaped gardens and the expansive 80-meter swimming pool, enhancing the romantic atmosphere.

Reflecting on the moment, Mel B humorously noted, “We get things wrong all the time, and in true Brown tradition, we walked down the wrong side of the aisle instead of in the middle.” Despite having meticulously planned every detail, she had not seen the aisle until that moment, prompting an emotional response. “It looked so beautiful that I burst into tears. Phoenix was saying, ‘Are you OK? What do I do?’ And I said, ‘Phoenix, just hold my hand.’ She said: ‘Right, OK; you’ve got this, Mum.'”

The joyous occasion not only highlighted the love shared between Mel B and Rory but also underscored the importance of family in her life. As she embarks on this new chapter, the support and involvement of her children have made her wedding day truly unforgettable.
