The 2026 Division One League campaign will feature five counties from Ulster as part of an exciting schedule. All-Ireland champions Kerry will commence their title defense with a home match against Roscommon at Fitzgerald Stadium on January 25, 2026. This season, Kerry, who are also the reigning League champions, will host additional home games against Galway, Monaghan, and Mayo.

Kerry’s road to the title will kick off with an away game against Donegal, a rematch of the All-Ireland decider held in July 2025. Their schedule concludes with an away visit to Armagh in the seventh round. Notably, the highly anticipated clash with Dublin in round four will be a standalone fixture, while three additional double-headers are scheduled for Croke Park during the League.

Meath to Play Home Matches at Croke Park

Due to redevelopment work at Navan’s Páirc Tailteann, Meath will host their three ‘home’ games at Croke Park. Their opening match will coincide with Dublin’s first fixture against Donegal on January 24, 2026, forming a double-header. Meath will also face Derry in a Division Two clash that day.

In round three, Meath will look to take revenge against Louth, the current Leinster champions, before Dublin’s match against Monaghan. The Meath team will then square off against Tyrone in round six, with a highly anticipated encounter against Armagh scheduled for the weekend of March 14-15, 2026.

Cross-Code Action Kicks Off League Season

The opening weekend will also feature a cross-code double-header. Cork will host Waterford at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on January 24, 2026, following the Division Two football match between Cork and Cavan. Meanwhile, the All-Ireland hurling champions, Tipperary, will begin their campaign against Galway the same evening at FBD Semple Stadium. Offaly will take on Kilkenny on the following Sunday, while Limerick will enjoy a bye in round one.

All county boards have received their provincial fixture lists, which are currently under review to accommodate live television coverage. The finalized schedule is expected to be confirmed by the GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee in the upcoming weeks.

With a packed schedule ahead, fans can anticipate an electrifying season filled with competitive matches across Ireland.
