Chris Barker Auctions Final Prints of Iconic Sgt Pepper Tributes
Chris Barker, known for his poignant celebrity tribute montages inspired by the classic album *Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band*, is concluding this decade-long project. In a unique opportunity for fans and collectors, Barker is auctioning signed prints of all ten montages, with the final piece set to be unveiled on December 16, 2024, at the Museum of Comedy in London.
Barker’s montages have become a viral sensation, commemorating celebrities who have passed away each year. To mark the end of this project, he is also releasing a coffee table book titled *A Decade in the Lives – Ten years of Sgt Pepper celebrity tribute montages*. This book features detailed images and personal notes about each montage, highlighting the emotional impact of this artistic endeavor. Barker expressed his gratitude to those who supported the crowdfunding campaign that made this book possible.
Final Auction and Exhibition Details
The auction will take place live at the Museum of Comedy, accompanied by an exhibition showcasing the original montages. This event is particularly special as it marks the first time Barker will offer professionally framed prints of these works, with the exception of a small print sold for charity in 2016. Fans outside of London can participate in the auction online, ensuring that everyone has a chance to own a piece of this art and internet history.
Barker has stated that he will auction one large, signed print for each year of the project, making this a rare opportunity for collectors. While the auction items are listed as collection-only, he is willing to arrange delivery after the auction concludes. Bidders are encouraged to participate early, as interest is high, with many followers watching the auction closely.
Supporting a Good Cause
Proceeds from both the book and the auction will benefit *The Actors’ Trust*, a charity where Barker’s late mother worked for 18 years. This connection adds a personal touch to the project, as it pays tribute not only to the celebrities but also to the legacy of his mother’s charitable work.
For those interested in the auction or the book, further details can be found on Barker’s website, where fans can also preorder the book directly from the publisher. As this project comes to a close, it offers a touching reminder of the impact these tributes have had on fans and the artistic community alike. Happy bidding!
