YouTube influencer Stacey Tourout survived a harrowing accident when her vehicle fell approximately 650 feet down a mountainside in British Columbia. Tragically, her partner, Matthew Yeomans, did not survive the crash, which occurred near Trout Lake on March 10, 2024. The couple was travelling on a challenging “blackcountry trail” known for its rough terrain when they reportedly lost control of their vehicle. According to Mark Jennings-Bates, Communication Manager for Kaslo Search and Rescue, the vehicle rolled multiple times down the slope. He stated, “From what I understand, it’s one of the few patches of the road that doesn’t have a forest on the side,” suggesting that the lack of trees contributed to the severity of the crash.

Upon arrival, rescue teams discovered Stacey alive, although critically injured. Despite her injuries, she was breathing and responsive. Emergency crews airlifted her from the wreckage before transporting her to the hospital. Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff, Stacey succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.

Meanwhile, Matthew was ejected from the vehicle during the incident and was found with “no vital signs.” The official cause of death is pending verification, but authorities believe the couple lost control of their vehicle prior to the tragic plunge. Jennings-Bates calculated that the couple fell a total of 656 feet down the mountainside.

The recovery operation was described as “challenging” due to the difficult terrain. Jennings-Bates explained that the uphill journey to reach them was arduous, highlighting the remote location of the accident.
