easyJet has announced the launch of a new route connecting Birmingham Airport to Rome, set to commence on March 5, 2026. This addition aims to provide travelers with an opportunity to explore Italy’s capital while avoiding summer crowds.

The service will operate four times a week, specifically on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This schedule is designed to cater to a variety of travelers, whether they are seeking a weekend getaway, a longer holiday, or traveling for business purposes. The new route enhances easyJet’s existing offerings from Birmingham, which also includes a recently announced flight to Lanzarote scheduled for later this month.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, expressed enthusiasm for the new route. He stated, “We’re delighted to be launching a new route from Birmingham to Rome next spring which will provide our customers in the Midlands with more connectivity when visiting Italy for leisure and business travelers alike.”

The announcement comes at a time when easyJet is focused on expanding its presence in the Midlands. Doyle emphasized the airline’s commitment to offering “more choice, connectivity, and great value fares” to its customers.

Birmingham Airport’s terminal operations director, Al Titterington, also welcomed the new route, highlighting Rome’s significance as a major European hub for finance, business, tourism, and culture. He noted the importance of increasing capacity and options for travelers in the region.

As the airline industry continues to recover from the challenges posed by the pandemic, easyJet’s new service reflects a growing demand for travel options that enable passengers to explore popular European destinations. The connection to Rome, known for its rich history, vibrant culture, and culinary delights, is expected to appeal to a broad range of travelers.

Overall, the introduction of this route demonstrates easyJet’s strategic focus on enhancing connectivity and expanding its network to meet the needs of its customers in the Midlands.
