Blondshell Joins Weezer for Live Performance at When We Were Young
Blondshell made a notable appearance alongside Weezer during their performance at the When We Were Young festival on October 18, 2025, held at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. The collaboration featured the song “I Just Threw Out The Love Of My Dreams,” originally released as a B-side during the band’s 1996 era, and it captivated the audience amidst a lineup of prominent acts.
The festival kicked off with a vibrant mix of pop-punk legends, including Panic! At The Disco, Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, The Offspring, and Knocked Loose. During their set, Rivers Cuomo and the rest of Weezer delivered a series of their biggest hits, showcasing their enduring appeal in the music scene.
Weezer’s performance included fan favorites such as “My Name Is Jonas,” “Hash Pipe,” and “Buddy Holly,” alongside the collaborative piece with Blondshell. The energy of the night was palpable, as attendees enjoyed a nostalgic yet fresh take on classic tracks.
As the festival continues with a second night of performances scheduled for October 19, Weezer’s recent tour has kept the band in the spotlight. Earlier this year, they delivered a sun-soaked show at Glastonbury and surprised fans as special guests during Olivia Rodrigo‘s headline set at Lollapalooza in August.
In addition to their touring efforts, Weezer is working on a film inspired by their journey, described as a blend of “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” and “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.” Initial speculation suggested that actor Jack Black might be involved, although the band later clarified that he would not participate. Notably, Keanu Reeves is believed to be part of the project.
On the other side, Blondshell recently released her second album, “If You Asked For A Picture,” in May, which received acclaim from critics, including being recognized by NME as one of the best albums of 2025 thus far. She is set to release a companion album titled “Another Picture” on November 14, featuring new songs and covers from various artists.
The excitement surrounding both Blondshell and Weezer during the festival highlights the vibrant landscape of contemporary music, with both artists pushing boundaries and engaging audiences with their respective projects.
