The car had failed to stop for officers, and a short pursuit followed just prior to the crash. The occupants left the scene, and officers are following a positive line of enquiry, which is continuing.”

Emergency services responded promptly, with the Scottish Ambulance Service dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. According to a service spokesperson, “We received a call at 12:58 to attend a road traffic collision on Liberton Road, Edinburgh. We dispatched an ambulance and a paramedic response unit (PRU) to the scene and transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”

The injured male was taken to the hospital for treatment, where his condition is currently being assessed. Authorities cordoned off the area for several hours while they conducted their investigation.
