Tim Lovejoy Calls Out Simon Rimmer Over Milton Keynes Remarks
During the latest episode of Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, presenter Tim Lovejoy confronted his co-host, Simon Rimmer, over a controversial segment from the previous week. The exchange centered on remarks made about the city of Milton Keynes, where singer Nectar Woode had appeared as a guest.
Addressing the Controversy
Lovejoy utilized the show’s platform to revisit an incident that had sparked viewer reactions. He stated, “There’s something we need to address. Last week, Milton Keynes’ very own Nectar Woode was with us in the studio. Let’s remind ourselves of what happened.” Viewers were then shown footage of Woode discussing her hometown with both presenters.
In the clip, when Lovejoy asked where visitors should go in Milton Keynes, Rimmer appeared to chuckle. Although he denied laughing—claiming he was merely coughing—Lovejoy took the opportunity to highlight the moment. Upon returning to the live broadcast, he humorously admonished Rimmer for his apparent mockery of the city as a vacation destination.
Milton Keynes Responds
In a light-hearted tone, Lovejoy noted that Milton Keynes had reached out, offering “an olive branch” to Rimmer. He declared, “I think we owe it to the people of Milton Keynes to share the wonders that the great city— is it a city?” Rimmer quickly interjected, saying, “No, I don’t think it is. It doesn’t have a cathedral; it’s a town.”
The pair then showcased a compilation of footage highlighting Milton Keynes’ attractions, including cafés, children’s entertainment options, retail centers, and accommodations. After the segment, Rimmer expressed interest in visiting, announcing, “If that hotel can send me details, then I’ll be there. I’ll book a week; I’ve not booked my summer holidays yet!”
Just as Rimmer began preparing the day’s recipe, Lovejoy interrupted with further jest. “Can I just stop the show here, because Milton Keynes has been in touch! Milton Keynes is a city, Simon! They hate you, they contacted saying, ‘We hate Simon.’ They’re a city!”
Rimmer, taken aback, responded, “Where is Milton Keynes’ Cathedral then? Well, I’m shocked, I’m shocked. I’m absolutely shocked.” To which Lovejoy playfully retorted, “You got told.”
The lively exchange provided viewers with a blend of humor and insight into the dynamics between the two presenters. Sunday Brunch continues to air on Channel 4, engaging audiences with its mix of entertainment and culinary segments.
