Experience Fairytale Magic at Efteling’s New Grand Hotel

The newly opened Grand Hotel at Efteling theme park in the Netherlands welcomes guests into a world inspired by classic fairytales and cinematic charm. Officially opening its doors in early August 2023, the hotel has quickly gained popularity among visitors, offering a unique blend of whimsical design and luxurious accommodation.
Guests are greeted by enchanting elements right from the lobby, where a self-playing piano and singing princesses set a magical tone. The hotel, towering at 127 feet, stands as a striking addition to the park’s landscape, which was previously just a parking lot. The transformation took just over a year, with general manager Alex Van Gastel emphasizing that the goal was to create a sense of permanence: “It feels like it’s been here for years. The ambition was to have a high-class, grand hotel in the park.”
The immersive experience continues throughout the hotel, featuring 140 rooms and suites that reflect the enchanting themes of Efteling’s fairytale forest. Each room includes delightful touches, such as a keyhole illuminated by a tiny elf and golden coin decor. Guests are treated to a tray of macaroons upon arrival, alongside a whimsical note wishing them a peaceful stay.
The Grand Hotel offers various amenities, including a pool, spa, and two distinct dining options: Brasserie 7 and Mystique. Brasserie 7, adorned in pastel colors reminiscent of a Wes Anderson film set, serves meals with whimsical names like dragon’s breath and princess tears. Mystique provides a captivating dining experience with a fairytale-themed tasting menu, all while overlooking the spectacular Aquanura fountain show, reputed to be the largest in Europe.
As guests enjoy the luxurious accommodations, they also benefit from early access to the theme park, which is known for its blend of thrilling rides and family-friendly activities. Efteling, which opened in 1952, is recognized as one of the best theme parks globally, offering attractions such as the exhilarating Baron 1898 dive coaster and the family-friendly Dreamflight ride.
With the park’s unique offerings, including eateries that serve pancakes and local delicacies, visitors can indulge in various culinary experiences. The rides primarily cater to a Dutch-speaking audience, but the captivating visuals ensure enjoyment for all.
Travel to Efteling is straightforward, with connections available from major cities. A premium deluxe room starts at approximately £508, accommodating families comfortably.
Efteling continues to enchant visitors by transporting them to a different world, where every detail is designed to create an unforgettable experience. As guests step into the Grand Hotel, they enter a fairytale realm that promises both adventure and relaxation, making it a must-visit destination for families and thrill-seekers alike.
