Dani Dyer is set to grace the dance floor in the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing, which begins on September 20, 2024. The popular BBC dance competition will kick off with a pre-recorded launch show, showcasing the contestants alongside their professional partners. This year, viewers can expect a vibrant group dance during the opening, followed by live performances starting a week later, with the first results show airing on October 5, 2024.

As the anticipation builds, Dyer is ready to embark on her journey toward the coveted Glitter Ball Trophy. The television personality shared her enthusiasm on Instagram, posting a photo from her dressing room with the caption, “And the Strictly journey begins, ahhhh I’m so excited,” complete with emotional and heart emojis. She also revealed her name displayed prominently alongside the Strictly Come Dancing logo, marking the start of her adventure.

Joining the Prestigious Line-Up

Dani Dyer is among several high-profile contestants announced for this year’s edition of Strictly. Speaking to the BBC, she expressed her gratitude, stating, “Getting the opportunity to be on Strictly is the second most amazing thing I’ve done this year! I feel very very blessed and cannot wait to get my dancing shoes on.” Dyer’s participation was revealed on The One Show on August 11, 2024, making her the second celebrity confirmed for the season, following Gladiator star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey.

Dyer, who gained fame after winning Love Island in 2018, has built a considerable following, boasting over three million social media fans. She is also a published author, with her debut book, What Would Dani Do?, achieving the Sunday Times Bestsellers list. Earlier this year, she married West Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen.

The excitement surrounding Dyer’s inclusion has resonated within the Strictly community. Last year’s winner, Dianne Buswell, expressed her enthusiasm on social media, saying, “Yay so excited to meet you.” Judge and professional dancer Oti Mabuse welcomed Dyer, wishing her a “magical, sparkly journey,” while judge Shirley Ballas also extended her warm greetings.

A Supportive Partner

Jarrod Bowen, who plays for West Ham United, shared insights about Dyer’s upcoming participation during an interview on the Ironcast podcast. He revealed that he had been instructed to keep her involvement under wraps until the announcement. “It was in the pipeline a couple of months ago. The rumours then start coming out and I was under strict instructions – don’t tell anyone,” he remarked. Bowen humorously added, “I’m a bad liar! I’m sure my weekends after a game will be to go over and watch her.”

As Dyer prepares to take the stage, she has already begun practicing her routines. She playfully mentioned to Bowen that she would love for him to join her in her training, to which he joked about his dancing skills, saying, “These hips aren’t like those professionals. I said she can have her dance and I’ll just come and watch.”

With the new season set to begin soon, the excitement surrounding Strictly Come Dancing continues to grow, as fans await the dazzling performances and memorable moments that the contestants, including Dani Dyer, will bring to the dance floor.
