Arizona Launches ‘Rizzler Berry’ Drink with TikTok Star This October
Arizona Beverages is set to debut a new berry-flavored carbonated juice cocktail called Rizzler Berry this October, featuring Christian Joseph Savasta, the 9-year-old TikTok sensation known as The Rizzler. Initially conceived as an April Fools’ joke, the drink quickly gained traction on social media, leading Arizona to transform the prank into a real product due to overwhelming public interest.
The original joke involved mock-up cans depicting Savasta as the company’s “Chief Rizz Officer,” which generated millions of views online. The playful tease about a fictional “Rizzberry” flavor sparked inquiries from distributors questioning whether the drink would be produced. Spencer Vultaggio, Arizona’s Chief Marketing Officer, noted that the enthusiastic response from fans convinced the company to bring Rizzler Berry to market.
Flavor Profile and Marketing Strategy
The Rizzler Berry flavor blends an array of fruity tastes, including strawberry, cherry, raspberry, blackberry, apple, and blue raspberry. Savasta described the drink as “fizzy and tastes like berry juice…sweet but not too sweet.”
To promote the launch, Savasta toured Arizona’s expansive 60-acre factory and visitor center, known as “AriZonaLand,” located in Keasbey, New Jersey. During the visit, he collaborated with co-founder Don Vultaggio in the lab, where they worked on recreating the drink’s unique flavor. A video of their time together was shared on social media, highlighting their hands-on approach to product development.
Future Pricing and Market Challenges
This launch occurs amidst discussions regarding potential price increases for Arizona’s popular beverages due to rising tariffs on aluminum cans. Despite these concerns, Vultaggio stated that there are no immediate plans to raise prices.
As Arizona prepares for the Rizzler Berry’s debut, the collaboration with Savasta marks an innovative approach to connecting with younger consumers. The drink’s rollout is anticipated to attract both fans of the TikTok star and loyal customers of the brand, further solidifying Arizona’s presence in the competitive beverage market.
