Thomas Skinner Admits to Cheating Just Weeks After Wedding

Reality television star Thomas Skinner has publicly acknowledged cheating on his wife, Sinead, merely two weeks after their wedding. In a candid interview, Skinner described the affair, which he referred to as a “two-week fling,” as the “biggest mistake” of his life. This revelation comes in the wake of significant media attention surrounding his participation in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Skinner disclosed that he met the woman, who owns a beauty clinic, during a night out at a pub. He claimed she had offered him “cosmetic slimming treatments.” Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, he expressed deep remorse for his actions, stating, “I was a selfish person.” He further emphasised the emotional turmoil his actions caused his wife, admitting, “She was obviously distraught, upset. My wife is my rock.”

The 34-year-old reality star has garnered attention not only for his marriage confession but also for his recent media interactions. Earlier this month, he left a press interview at Elstree Studios after confronting a journalist who he believed was recording private messages on their phone. Skinner was reported to have “snatched” the journalist’s phone while questioning the intent behind the recording.

In a follow-up statement, Skinner clarified the incident. He explained that during the interview, he inadvertently glimpsed messages on the journalist’s phone that were unrelated to Strictly but pertained to personal aspects of his life. He acknowledged feeling overwhelmed by the situation and decided to step away momentarily to collect his thoughts.

“I’m sorry I picked up someone else’s phone,” he said. “I don’t even know if the journalist realised their messages were visible, and I don’t want to suggest any bad intentions on their part.” He concluded by expressing excitement for his participation in the dance competition, stating, “I’m so grateful for all the love, kindness and support I’ve been shown so far.”

The BBC, which produces Strictly Come Dancing, addressed the incident, reiterating its commitment to maintaining high standards of behaviour on its programmes.
