Liam Gallagher Questions Noel Over Lech Poznań Football Gift
Liam Gallagher has taken to social media to express his frustration after his brother, Noel Gallagher, received a signed football shirt from Polish club Lech Poznań. The incident unfolded when Noel shared the news on Thursday, revealing that the reigning Polish champions had sent him a personalized jersey along with a heartfelt letter.
Lech Poznań is known for its connection to Manchester City and has inspired the iconic “Poznań” celebration, where fans link arms and bounce in unison, facing away from the pitch. Although Noel was delighted by the unexpected gift, Liam’s response hinted at feelings of exclusion. Two hours after Noel’s post, Liam replied, “Er, where’s mine?”
The situation took an interesting turn when it was revealed that both brothers were actually sent the same gift. Lech Poznań had previously shared a photo on their social media accounts showing a box being prepared for Liam, complete with a jersey bearing his name and a letter dated September 4.
The letter reads: “In front of you lies a very special gift – a personalised KKS Lech Poznań jersey with your name and the number 12, which in our club is reserved for the fans – our ‘twelfth player’! Just like you, as a devoted Manchester City supporter, we – the fans and staff of Lech – love cheering for our teams, especially when doing ‘the Poznań’!”
The correspondence also acknowledged the shared history between the clubs, noting that this year marks the 15th anniversary of their UEFA Europa League ties. The letter further states, “The term ‘The Poznań’ even made it into the Cambridge Dictionary!”
Lech Poznań expressed their pride in the connection between Manchester City and their own club, emphasizing how Oasis concerts have popularized the celebration. They extended an invitation for Liam to visit Poznań, either to perform or to experience the atmosphere of a match at their stadium.
As the story continues to unfold, it highlights the personal dynamics of the Gallagher brothers while also showcasing the unique bond between football and music cultures. The playful exchange has resonated with fans of both Oasis and Manchester City, further blurring the lines between sports and entertainment.
