The draw for the EuroVolej 2026 tournament for women’s volleyball will take place on October 4, 2024, at 20:45 local time in Bari, Italy. This event marks a significant moment for participating national teams as they prepare for the championship, which will occur from August 21 to September 6, 2026, across multiple locations including Ankara, Brno, Baku, and Gothenburg.

Four host nations—Turkey in Group A, Czech Republic in Group B, Azerbaijan in Group C, and Sweden in Group D—will each select one opponent from a pool of 20 teams. These teams qualified based on their performance in the last European Championship and through the qualifying rounds. The groups will be finalized during the draw, with the only debutant in the tournament being Montenegro.

The Montenegro Volleyball Federation will be represented at the draw by Ksenija Bozović, the director of the women’s national teams, and Danilo Petrovic. Montenegro’s national team made history by securing a spot in this major senior competition for the first time, finishing first in their qualifying group alongside Latvia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They will enter the draw ranked 25th in the European standings.

Other teams that qualified for the 2026 tournament based on their placements in the EuroVolej 2023 include Serbia, Italy, Poland, The Netherlands, France, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Slovakia. Additionally, the group winners include Germany, Belgium, Slovenia, Spain, Greece, and Croatia. The five best-performing second-placed teams in the qualifiers are Romania, Hungary, Austria, Portugal, and Latvia.

On the same day, the draw for the men’s tournament will also be held, with the event scheduled for the following September in Italy, Bulgaria, Finland, and Romania.

The excitement surrounding this upcoming event highlights the growing popularity of women’s volleyball and the competitive spirit that each participating nation brings to the court. As teams gear up for the draw, fans eagerly anticipate the matchups and the thrilling tournament ahead.
