Police in Gloucestershire have successfully removed several abandoned vehicles from the A417, following complaints from local residents. Officers from Gloucestershire Police acted after receiving reports about the presence of these vehicles near Staunton, located north of Gloucester.

Abandoned vehicles pose safety risks, obstructing traffic, roads, and pedestrians. As stated in a community alert, police noted, “The sight of a damaged or slowly rusting car can also be an eyesore in your community, so it’s understandable why the community may want these to be removed.”

On Saturday, Police Community Support Officer Reuben Croft conducted a patrol in Staunton and Corse. During this patrol, he identified four abandoned vehicles, which have since been removed under police authority and reported to the DVLA for having no road tax.

In addition to the vehicle removals, several other incidents have been reported to the police. A Super Moto 125cc motorcycle was reported stolen from Eastcombe in Stroud on October 3, 2025, around 20:20. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to quote incident number 459 3/10/25.

Furthermore, an Audi A3 was reported stolen from Lower Kilcot in Hillesley between 22:00 on October 2 and 08:30 on October 3. Individuals with information should refer to incident number 91 3/10/25.

A burglary was also reported at a residence on Oddington Road in Stow on the Wold, where silverware was stolen. This incident is believed to have occurred between October 2 and 5, and anyone with insights should reference incident number 144 5/10/25.
