Laura Loomer Warns Against Lobbying Trump for Maxwell Pardon

Right-wing activist Laura Loomer has issued a stark warning against lobbying the Trump administration for a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted accomplice of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Loomer’s comments come after President Donald Trump indicated he might consult with the Department of Justice regarding clemency for Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2021 for child sex trafficking and related offenses.

On Monday, Trump told reporters he had not heard of Maxwell in some time but would “have to take a look” at her case. This prompted Loomer to post a warning on social media platform X, advising against any efforts to persuade the administration to pardon Maxwell. “I strongly advise AGAINST anyone lobbying the Trump admin and the DOJ to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell,” she stated emphatically. “Do not do it. I repeat. Do not do it. There will be no coming back from that.”

Concerns About Consequences

Loomer did not specify the potential repercussions for those advocating for Maxwell, but she has a history of leveraging her influence to target individuals she perceives as disloyal to Trump. Her actions have led to the dismissal of several officials from various government positions, including the National Security Council and Customs and Border Protection.

Maxwell, who was previously the girlfriend of Epstein, has consistently maintained that the charges against her were unjust. After Trump’s comments regarding Maxwell, Loomer later confirmed that a “high-level White House source” informed her that the president has “no plans” to grant her a pardon. “I can also confirm he has personally not been asked to pardon Maxwell,” she added on X.
