Driver Sentenced to 30 Days for Excessive Alcohol Level in Budva
A 47-year-old man from Podgorica, identified as T. R., has been sentenced to 30 days in prison for driving under the influence of alcohol in Budva. He was found to have an alarming blood alcohol concentration of 3.25 per mille, significantly exceeding legal limits.
The incident occurred on October 9, 2025, at approximately 02:00 in the morning, when police officers stopped T. R. in Blaza Jovanovic Street. According to a statement from the Budva Misdemeanor Court, he was subjected to an alcohol test which revealed the dangerously high level of alcohol in his system.
Along with the prison sentence, the court, presided over by Katarina Vujacic Vuksanovic, imposed additional penalties on T. R. These include a four-month driving ban and the accumulation of three penalty points on his driving record. The police will enforce these measures once the court’s decision becomes final.
This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety and the serious consequences associated with driving under the influence of alcohol. The significant level of alcohol detected in T. R.’s bloodstream raises alarms about the potential dangers posed not only to the driver but also to other road users.
Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of responsible driving, particularly during late-night hours when alcohol consumption is more prevalent. The legal repercussions for such offenses serve as a reminder of the risks involved and the commitment of law enforcement to maintain safety on the roads.
