A 47-year-old man from Podgorica, identified as T. R., has been sentenced to 30 days in prison after driving under the influence in Budva, where he registered a staggering blood alcohol level of 3.25 grams per litre. The incident occurred in the early hours of October 9, 2025, at approximately 02:00 local time, when police stopped him in Blaža Jovanovića Street.

According to the Court for Misdemeanours in Budva, T. R. was found guilty of operating a BMW while severely intoxicated. The court’s statement revealed that during the traffic stop, authorities conducted an alcohol test, confirming the high blood alcohol concentration, which is well over the legal limit.

In addition to his prison sentence, the court imposed a four-month driving ban and assigned three penalty points to T. R.’s driving record. The presiding judge, Katarina Vujacic Vuksanovic, emphasized the need for strict measures against such dangerous behaviour on the roads. The police department will enforce these penalties once the court’s decision becomes final.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and the dangers of impaired driving. Authorities continue to stress the importance of responsible behaviour behind the wheel, as incidents like this pose significant risks to public safety.
