The iconic reality series The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) is set to return to screens, with stars Amy Childs and Lauryn Goodger leading the charge at a glitzy launch event. The event celebrated the much-anticipated new series, bringing together familiar faces from the show’s storied history, including their longtime friend Harry Derbidge.

It’s like 15 years ago, and I feel like me and Lauren, we’ve all been here for so long,” the mother of four stated. She noted that while the experience is different now, it remains enjoyable. “I don’t want to say it’s harder, I just think it’s different,” she added.

As excitement builds for the new series, Amy hinted at the drama viewers can expect. “I think people absolutely love it. Everyone’s got a bit of everything in it. Drama, fun,” she remarked, clarifying that she aims to stay away from conflict. “I’m not really involved with the drama. I love filming. I came back five years ago, and it was the best thing I ever did.”

Lauryn echoed her sentiments, expressing her joy at returning to the show. “I’ve had such a good time. It’s really helped me personally because I sort of lost myself for a little while,” she shared. Her return marks a significant moment in her journey, as she navigates her own personal challenges.

Other cast members, including Elma Pazar and Ella Rae Wise, also teased the new series, hinting at major relationship drama. Ella expressed her excitement about episodes filmed in Portugal, stating, “It was like drama, left, right, center.” Meanwhile, Harry added that the trip would feature some of the most compelling moments, saying, “There’s so much that happens. So much happens to our lives in between filming.”

The new series of TOWIE will kick off with a cast getaway to Portugal, celebrating the show’s 15th anniversary. Fans can look forward to the premiere on August 17, 2024, on ITV2 and ITVX. According to a source close to the production, the upcoming episodes promise to deliver “some of the most heartbreaking moments that have ever been aired.”
