Joe Rogan and Avi Loeb Challenge Silence on Alien Technology

Joe Rogan expressed disbelief during a recent episode of his podcast when Avi Loeb, a prominent astrophysicist from Harvard University, revealed that discussions about potential alien technology associated with the interstellar object known as 3I/ATLAS are being actively suppressed by certain experts. This object, which is only the third confirmed interstellar visitor to our solar system, has drawn attention for its unusual properties, including a strange glow and rapid rotation, leading some to speculate that it may not be a typical comet.

While NASA maintains that 3I/ATLAS is simply a comet, Loeb suggests there is a significant possibility—approximately 40%—that it could represent artificial technology. He highlighted that if 3I/ATLAS is indeed a “mothership,” it could potentially deploy smaller probes to study Earth.

He recalled a moment of inspiration while on vacation, shortly after 3I/ATLAS was discovered. Captivated by its size compared to the first known interstellar object, ‘Oumuamua’, he began drafting a paper to explore its implications.

During the podcast, Loeb described how he faced resistance when he attempted to publish his findings. According to him, an editor rejected his paper unless he removed a sentence suggesting that 3I/ATLAS might have been deliberately targeting the inner solar system. Loeb noted the trajectory of 3I/ATLAS aligns closely with the orbits of the planets, a statistical anomaly he calculated to have only a 1 in 500 chance of occurring randomly.

He explained, “3I/ATLAS’s movement could be ideal for a reconnaissance mission if it were artificial. It moves in a retrograde trajectory opposite to the planets, which could allow it to release mini-probes.” This movement, he argues, supports the idea that some form of intelligence could have engineered its path.

Loeb’s assertion that his editor insisted on the removal of any references to intelligent design before the paper could be published raises questions about academic freedom and the willingness of some in the scientific community to entertain unconventional theories. He remarked, “When you listen to comet experts who say, ‘this claim was never published in a peer-reviewed journal,’ guess what? They are the editors or the reviewers who are blocking the discussion on possibilities.”
