Natalie J Robb, famed for her portrayal of Moira Dingle on the popular ITV soap opera *Emmerdale*, has shared a poignant reflection on the recent loss of her beloved dog, Bronson. The actress, aged 50, is known for her commitment to animal welfare, particularly in supporting rescue dogs.

In February 2024, Robb faced the heartbreaking death of Bronson, who passed away at the age of 15. Bronson, a crossbreed of Japanese Akita and Rottweiler, was rescued by Robb when he was just two years old. In her latest remarks, Robb described Bronson as her soulmate, revealing that the grief of losing him was unlike anything she had ever experienced.

“I missed him so much. I found it particularly hard coming home from a day’s filming and him not being there,” she conveyed in a candid conversation with *The Mirror*. This profound sense of loss led Robb to seek solace through a unique piece of jewelry.

“It was tough. I had a necklace made with his chest hair inside and he is by my heart. I never take it off other than when I am playing Moira,” she explained. This gesture reflects the deep bond she shared with Bronson and her ongoing journey of healing.

New Beginnings with Buddy

As Robb began to navigate her grief, she welcomed a new dog into her life, a two-year-old named Buddy. Just before Buddy’s arrival, Robb experienced a vivid dream that she interpreted as a sign from Bronson.

“One night I woke up crying. I had a dream with this big blonde dog running through the woods with me. He had black eyes and a black snout. Bronson was there and he came and looked at me. But I woke up because it wasn’t Bronson,” she recalled. Driven by the dream, she soon discovered a mastiff that resembled the dog from her vision and felt compelled to adopt him.

“I rang them up and while I couldn’t meet him because of work, I saw lots of videos of him. Because of the dream, I knew this dog was for me,” Robb stated. This heartfelt connection underscores the significant role dogs play in providing emotional support and companionship.

Others Join the Cause for Rescue Dogs

Robb is not alone in her passion for animal rescue. Fellow actor Olly Rix, known for his role in *Casualty*, has also expressed his love for dogs. In July, Rix visited the Dogs Trust centre in Cardiff, where he learned about the organization’s efforts in animal welfare.

“It was amazing. They talked me through how they work as an organization and across the country,” Rix shared. During his visit, he met various dogs, each with unique stories, some heartbreaking and others uplifting. “They do so much work, and it’s such a tonic to the challenges of everyday life,” he added.

After his visit, Rix returned home to care for his own dog, Nellie, noting the joys and challenges that come with being a new pet owner. He stated, “I think dogs can irrevocably change anybody’s life.”

Both Robb and Rix exemplify the profound impact that dogs can have on their owners, offering companionship and emotional support during difficult times. As they continue to advocate for rescue animals, their stories highlight the special bond between humans and their canine companions.
