Perrotin Unveils Diverse Showcase at ART TAIPEI 2025
Perrotin returns to ART TAIPEI 2025 with a carefully curated showcase featuring a mix of established and contemporary artists. The exhibition, which runs from October 23 to 27, 2025, is set to take place at the Taipei World Trade Center, specifically in Booth A06. This year’s presentation emphasizes a dialogue between historical and modern practices, displaying works across various mediums including painting, bronze, glass, and mixed-media installations.
The lineup includes renowned postwar figures such as Hans Hartung and Jean‐Michel Othoniel, alongside contemporary artists like Takashi Murakami and Aya Takano. The showcase not only highlights 20th-century abstraction and figuration but also introduces recent works by mid-career and emerging talents, creating a cross-generational narrative that focuses on material experimentation and narrative depth.
Among the significant highlights is Hartung’s “T1961‐H23,” which exemplifies his innovative “scratching” technique from the early 1960s. Additionally, his later work, “T1971‐R12,” reflects his experimentation with lithographic rollers. The exhibition also features two “Brushstroke” pieces by Lee Bae, alongside an “Issu du feu” work that explores the duality of charcoal as both mark and medium.
Othoniel contributes two sculptures from his “Amant Suspendu” series, which consist of reflective Murano glass and amethyst beads. These pieces invite viewers to engage in quiet contemplation. The exhibit further includes Laurent Grasso‘s “Future Herbarium,” which presents imagined botanical plates featuring double-headed sunflowers, merging past and future botanical aesthetics.
The collaboration between Mr. and Takashi Murakami is another standout, merging NFT-inspired characters with Murakami’s lively flower fields, effectively blurring the lines between high art and popular culture.
Contemporary perspectives are well represented through various works, including Aya Takano‘s whimsical paintings that suggest an Edenic future populated by elongated, fairy-like figures. Emi Kuraya portrays urban experiences and self-discovery through her oil vignettes, while Steph Huang utilizes found objects and hand-blown glass to explore themes of food, desire, and memory.
The booth also showcases recent works by a diverse group of artists, including Jason Boyd Kinsella, Joaquín Boz, Yayoi Deki, Mathilde Denize, Nick Goss, Thilo Heinzmann, Susumu Kamijo, Georges Mathieu, Otani Workshop, GaHee Park, Qi Zhuo, and Marty Schnapf. This array of talent underscores Perrotin’s commitment to showcasing a plural and international outlook at ART TAIPEI.
As the art community gathers in Taipei, Perrotin’s presentation promises to be a significant highlight, showcasing the rich dialogue between historical and contemporary artistic expressions.
