Tributes are pouring in for renowned Scottish comedian Gary Little, who has died at the age of 61. Little was scheduled to perform in Aberdeen next month, highlighting the suddenness of his passing. The iconic comedy club The Stand paid tribute to him, describing him as “an incredible comic, huge personality and friend to many.” In an emotional Instagram post, the club expressed their devastation, stating, “We are lost for words, and he will be profoundly and sorely missed. Our thoughts go out to all his family and friends right now.”
Other tributes have emerged from various corners of the comedy world. The Some Laugh podcast shared their grief, calling him “one of the best stand-ups Scotland has ever produced.” They praised his warmth and kindness, recalling how he positively impacted many emerging comedians.
The Glee Club in Glasgow also expressed their heartbreak, stating, “Gary wasn’t just one of Scotland’s finest comedians, he was a true original.” They remembered his ability to make everyone feel at ease, noting, “He played our opening weekend and was a permanent fixture at the venue ever since.”

Numerous comedians took to social media to share heartfelt memories of Little. Jo Caulfield, a fellow comedian, remarked on the profound loss, saying, “We are all poorer for losing you, Gary.” She lamented the absence of his joyful presence and infectious laugh, expressing sympathy for his family.
Neil Bratchpiece, known as The Wee Man, also reflected on the shock of his passing, calling Little “one of the best comedians to come out of the country.” He extended his condolences to Little’s family and friends, underscoring the comedian’s warmth and generosity.
Rob Kane, another comedian, shared a poignant story from their time together, recalling a moment when Little brought him back to reality during a performance. He stated, “I wish every gig I done had a Big Gary at it and I hope he’s doubling up whenever he does his next gigs. RIP big man. Much respect and Love.”
Darren Connell added to the outpouring of affection, recalling how Little hosted his first gig at age 18. Connell described him as an absolute powerhouse, emphasizing the invaluable advice he received from the comedian: “I’m glad he was kind enough to say that, and even more glad I listened.”
