Boston Scientific Unveils Endura Weight Loss Solutions Amid New Research

Boston Scientific Corporation has launched its new line of weight loss procedures named Endura Weight Loss Solutions, coinciding with the release of a national survey that highlights the challenges women face in their weight loss journeys. The survey, which included 2,000 women in the United States aged 30 to 65, reveals that over 40% of adults in the country are living with obesity.
According to the survey, while a significant 74% of respondents viewed weight loss as essential to their overall health, achieving this goal remains elusive. Women reported an average of seven attempts to lose weight, yet they failed to meet their targets in six of those attempts. Approximately 41% of participants expressed dissatisfaction with their current weight, with more than half of these women actively seeking new weight loss solutions.
“Losing weight is personal – no single method is going to work for everyone,” stated Brian Dunkin, M.D., FACS, Chief Medical Officer of Endoscopy at Boston Scientific. “By introducing Endura Weight Loss Solutions, we’re meeting people where they are. It’s a new name for a different kind of approach – one that is clinically supported and minimally invasive for those who may not want to undergo surgery or take weight loss medications long-term.”
Innovative Procedures Designed for Effective Weight Loss
The Endura Weight Loss Solutions encompass various minimally invasive procedures, including endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) and the Orbera Intragastric Balloon System. Both techniques are designed to reduce the stomach’s capacity, enabling patients to consume less food and feel satiated more quickly. These procedures do not require external incisions, which minimizes recovery time and discomfort.
Clinical data indicates that patients undergoing ESG often return home the same day and resume daily activities within two to three days. Similarly, the Orbera balloon is typically placed in an outpatient setting, allowing individuals to return to their routines within several days to a week. Evidence suggests that these methods can yield significant weight loss when combined with lifestyle changes such as improved diet and increased physical activity.
The survey results show a keen interest in weight loss topics, with 40% of respondents contemplating weight loss on a daily basis. This highlights the demand for effective solutions in a market where traditional dieting and long-term medication use can be daunting.
Break Through Campaign to Raise Awareness
To further support individuals struggling with obesity, Boston Scientific is launching the Break Through campaign. This national consumer media initiative aims to address the concerns expressed by women in the survey, focusing on the mental and physical barriers associated with dieting and the apprehension surrounding surgical weight loss options.
The campaign emphasizes the potential of minimally invasive weight loss procedures as viable alternatives for individuals hesitant to pursue conventional methods such as dieting or expensive medications. By raising awareness, Boston Scientific hopes to encourage those who qualify to explore innovative weight loss solutions.
With the introduction of Endura Weight Loss Solutions and the accompanying Break Through campaign, Boston Scientific is positioning itself as a leader in the emerging field of minimally invasive weight loss procedures, offering hope to many struggling with obesity.
