Fatal Two-Car Collision Claims Life Near Cambridgeshire Border

A man in his 20s lost his life following a serious car accident near the Cambridgeshire border on August 13, 2023. The collision occurred at approximately 15:37 on the A1122, also known as Downham Road, in Crimplesham, just outside Downham Market in Norfolk.

The crash involved a grey Audi A5 and a blue BMW iX1. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded promptly to the scene. Tragically, the passenger in the Audi succumbed to his injuries at the site of the accident.

The driver of the Audi, a man in his 60s, alongside two other passengers, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Among these passengers, a woman in her 50s sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the BMW, a woman in her 40s, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

The A1122 was closed for several hours as emergency personnel worked to manage the scene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. The road was reopened at approximately 23:00 the same day.
