Nicolas Jackson’s Agent Vows to Secure Transfer from Chelsea

Nicolas Jackson will not return to Chelsea as his agent, Ali Barat, has committed to “fight with everything” to facilitate a move away from Stamford Bridge. The uncertainty surrounding the striker’s future continues as the transfer window approaches its deadline, with Jackson remaining in Germany despite the club’s request for him to return to London. His loan deal to Bayern Munich collapsed over the weekend, leaving both parties in a precarious position.

On Monday afternoon, Jackson was still in Germany, having been granted permission to travel for a medical examination and to finalize the details of his transfer. Chelsea had initially agreed to a loan deal with an option to buy for £56 million. However, this agreement was revoked after a hamstring injury to striker Liam Delap during Chelsea’s match against Fulham on Saturday. Delap’s injury is expected to sideline him for six to eight weeks, prompting Chelsea to reconsider their transfer strategy.

Bayern Munich announced that they would not proceed with the deal following Chelsea’s sudden change of heart. In a statement to the press, agent Ali Barat expressed frustration: “Nico was ready. Bayern was ready. We were all aligned on a world-class project. For the agreement to be withdrawn at the final moment is deeply frustrating.” He emphasized his determination to secure a transfer that reflects Jackson’s talent and ambition, saying, “I will fight with everything I have to make sure Nico’s next step reflects his talent, ambition, and the plan we built together.”

As the situation develops, Chelsea has reportedly reached out to Sporting Lisbon regarding a potential late transfer for 20-year-old striker Conrad Harder. The club is also in discussions to recall Marc Guiu from his loan at Sunderland. Head coach Enzo Maresca faces an urgent challenge, having seen his striker options dwindle from four to just one following Delap’s injury and Christopher Nkunku’s transfer to AC Milan on September 1, 2025.

Should a resolution not be found for Jackson’s situation or in the market, Joao Pedro will be Chelsea’s only fit striker when the Premier League resumes after the international break. The club has confirmed that they have secured Facundo Buonanotte on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. The 20-year-old winger expressed enthusiasm about joining Chelsea, stating, “I’m very happy to join Chelsea. It’s a great opportunity for me, and I’m just looking to add as much to the squad as possible, help the team, and help the staff.”

The clock is ticking for Chelsea as they navigate a complex landscape of transfers and injuries, with the pressure mounting as the transfer window nears its close.
