Excitement Builds for Birmingham’s New Society Venue Opening

A highly anticipated food and drink venue, named Society, is set to open its doors at One Colmore Square in Birmingham on September 5, 2023. The new establishment will feature four in-house restaurants, a coffee shop, a central bar, and an outdoor terrace, all within a spacious 9,000 sq ft area that can accommodate approximately 350 patrons.
The Birmingham food scene is known for its dynamic nature, with establishments frequently opening and closing. Despite the unpredictability, the launch of Society has garnered significant excitement. This enthusiasm is largely attributed to the inclusion of some of Birmingham’s most beloved independent food vendors, all under one roof.
Featured Vendors at Society
Among the standout offerings is Shokupan, renowned for its Japanese milk bread sandwiches. Located in Grand Central, Shokupan has developed a reputation for its delectable sandwiches, which feature light and fluffy milk bread that perfectly complements its fillings. As one of the new traders at Society, it promises to bring its unique culinary flair to a central location.
Another eagerly awaited addition is Amore Pizzeria Napoletano. This establishment has gained a loyal following for its exceptional pizzas, earning praise from local enthusiasts. With its move to the heart of Birmingham, fans are eager to enjoy Amore’s renowned chewy crusts and rich marinara sauce, which many agree is worth the price alone.
Society will also host Manzoku, which is known for its diverse menu that includes curries, sushi, and wings. Although this vendor is new to many, its previous success at Society’s Manchester location has set high expectations.
The fourth vendor, Slap and Pickle, is known for its innovative take on comfort food, such as their famous “bacon rain” concept. Their commitment to affordable meals, including offering children’s meals for just £1, suggests that they will appeal to a wide audience.
Additional Offerings and Collaborations
Beyond food, Society will also feature the Coffee Bar Collective, which has been acclaimed as one of the best coffee spots in the UK, boasting a near-perfect rating of 4.9 stars from nearly 1,000 reviews. Customers are particularly excited about the prospect of pairing their artisan coffee with Amore’s cannoli, creating a delightful culinary experience.
For beer enthusiasts, Society has partnered with **Glasshouse Brewery** to create its own Society Pale Ale. This collaboration promises a refreshing brew made with Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops, emphasizing local production just five miles from the venue.
With the opening of Society, Birmingham’s culinary landscape is poised for an exciting transformation. As the countdown to the launch continues, many locals are eagerly checking their calendars, anticipating the day they can indulge in a diverse array of flavours all in one place.
