Newport Pride 2025 Celebrates Love with Vibrant Festivities

Newport transformed into a vibrant celebration as Pride in the Port returned for its fourth year, marking another successful chapter in the city’s LGBTQ+ festivities. This year’s event not only highlighted the spirit of love and acceptance but also served as a precursor to the upcoming UK Pride, which is set to take place in Newport in 2026.
The inaugural Pride in the Port event was held in 2022 at Belle Vue Park. Since then, it has grown significantly, and the 2025 celebration was promoted as the “biggest and best” yet. The parade kicked off at 11:00 AM, with participants donning dazzling outfits and vibrant colors, filling the streets with energy and enthusiasm.
In addition to the parade, attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including live performances, a designated family area, and a market featuring local vendors. The event showcased the unity and diversity of the community, as people of all ages came together to celebrate.
Photographers captured the essence of the day, documenting moments of joy and solidarity as attendees sparkled along the city streets. The atmosphere was filled with music, laughter, and a shared sense of pride.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to the community for its support and participation, emphasizing the importance of such events in promoting inclusivity and acceptance. Newport Pride not only celebrates the LGBTQ+ community but also fosters a sense of belonging among all residents.
As Newport prepares to host the national event in 2026, this year’s celebration served as a reminder of the progress made and the work still needed in the fight for equality. The success of Pride in the Port exemplifies the city’s commitment to supporting diversity and creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
The vibrant images and heartfelt moments from this year’s Newport Pride will undoubtedly resonate as the city looks forward to its next major celebration.
