Police Seek Witnesses After Arson Attacks in Penycae
Police in North Wales have launched an appeal for information following a series of arson attacks in Penycae on October 6, 2023. The incidents involved two vehicles being set alight and occurred during a night of criminal damage reports in the area.
Shortly before 21:00, North Wales Police received a report that a van had been deliberately ignited in the Cristionydd area. Just after 21:12, officers responded to another report of criminal damage, where windows had been smashed at a residence in Millars Court. The final incident occurred around 23:00, when a caravan was reported to be on fire in the road on Lampitt Street. Authorities believe this fire was also intentionally started.
Wrexham Rural Inspector Stefan Lederle stated, “Enquiries into these incidents are ongoing, while patrols have been increased in the area.” He emphasized the importance of community assistance in this investigation. “I am asking anyone who witnessed these incidents, or anybody with information that could assist our investigations, to contact us at the earliest opportunity on 101, or via our website.”
The police have heightened their presence in Penycae to deter further incidents and to reassure residents. Local authorities are urging community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
