Stagecoach has announced the cancellation of two bus services in Glasgow due to vandalism. The X25 service, which was scheduled to depart from St James Road to Abronhill at 20:14, along with the 20:56 service from Abronhill to Millcroft, will no longer operate following the incident.
Passengers affected by these cancellations have been advised to seek alternative travel routes. A statement from Stagecoach emphasized the need for customers to utilize their journey planner to explore other options or to contact the travel operator’s team for assistance.
“We’ve sadly had to cancel the following services today due to vandalism,” the statement read. “You can use our journey planner to find an alternate bus route, or speak to our team for more help.”
Stagecoach has not specified the nature of the vandalism nor provided details on any measures being taken to address the situation. In light of the incident, the company has reached out to Police Scotland for further comment.
As the community grapples with the implications of this disruption, passengers are encouraged to stay informed about service updates. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about safety and security within public transportation systems.
The cancellations illustrate the broader impact that vandalism can have on essential services, further underscoring the importance of maintaining safe and reliable public transport options.
